TBF Environmental Introduces VOC-Compliant Alternative to Hexane  SCAQMD Certifies KradaSol as Clean Air Solvent

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

VANCOUVER, BC (December 9, 2015) – TBF Environmental Technology Inc., a world leader in the development of environmentally-friendly industrial solvents, has made KradaSol – a Volatile Organic Content (VOC)-compliant alternative – commercially available. It’s the second of three major announcements about industry-changing products that the company is making over a two-month period.KradaSol is an alternative to slow-evaporating conventional solvents like Hexane, Toluene, Xylene, Aromatic 100, Cyclohexane, Methyl Amyl Ketone (MAK), Perchloroethylene, and Butyl Acetate. Its performance characteristics are similar to these solvents, which it is designed to replace, while eliminating the emission of VOCs and other toxic pollutants.

In its continuing efforts to improve air quality in Southern California, the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) has created a new class of Clean Air Solvents (CAS) for solvents which, among other criteria, contain no more than 25 grams of VOC per liter of material. SCAQMD has certified KradaSol as a Clean Air Solvent. In addition, independent ASTM 313-91 testing has confirmed KradaSol is VOC-compliant throughout the United States and Canada.

“Until now, the market has only been able to use traditional smog-producing solvents – ones particularly damaging for the environment like Xylene, Hexane, and Perchloroethylene – to dissolve certain block polymers and chlorinated rubbers. KradaSol is both effective and environmentally-friendly in replacing these traditional, toxic solvents,” said David Pasin, President and Founder of TBF Environmental.

“Many Palmer Holland customers use block polymers and chlorinated rubbers and have been challenged to work with them in an environmentally-friendly way,” said Mark Riemann, VP Sales of Palmer Holland, Inc., TBF`s distributor east of the US Rockies. “KradaSol provides a solution they have been looking for.”

“We have experienced a significant demand right out of the gate for TBF`s VOC-compliant solvents,” said Ryan Yokoyama, VP Sales for Dorsett & Jackson, TBF`s distributor on the US west coast. “The CAS designation gives TBF instant credibility in addressing VOC content issues, while we focus on solvent performance,” he added.
