Department of Environmental Quality Mission Statement
The mission statement of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality promotes wise management of Michigan’s air, land, and water resources to support a sustainable environment, healthy communities, and vibrant economy. MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY AIR QUALITY DIVISION PART 6: EMISSION LIMITATION AND PROHIBITIONS – EXISTING SOURCES OF VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUND EMISSIONS This comprehensive, 52-page regulation sets the limits for all forms of VOC emissions. Most of the regulations cover manufacturing processes, which set VOC emission limits per time period. Other states, like California, regulate the VOC content in consumer products, coatings, solvent degreasing and other common products per unit weight. Where a product VOC content limit is shown, the applicable rule in part 6 is shown below: R 336.1610 Existing coating lines; emission of volatile organic compounds from existing automobile, light-duty truck, and other product and material coating lines.
